We have had a wellness plan on two dogs for over 10 years. One of our dogs passed away this past weekend. I tried to call Banfield and their wait time to speak with someone is over an hour and a half. I was able to text someone, but come to find out that I have to continue to pay for a pet that is NO LONGER ALIVE. I searched their website for terms and conditions and had to text back to find out that they do NOT put them online. So, they hide them from customers! T& C are only provided at original point of sale, for me this ... read more

We have had a wellness plan on two dogs for over 10 years. One of our dogs passed away this past weekend. Read the fine print. Had to put our 12 yr old Shih Tzu down due to collapsed trachea that was miss diagnosed for three months. Was given steroids and antibiotics for months thinking his cough was viral. Plus X-rays cost. We had renewed the plan a few weeks prior to initial visit. The devastation of putting a pet down was compounded by them not allowing us to cancel our plan upon death. We are now stuck paying for remaining 10 months of plan while our dog is no longer alive. I paid for the Wellness plan nearly 4 years. But when I wanted to make an appointment, I could get him in right away of I dropped him off. If I want to stay with him, I'd have to wait over a month. This makes no sense whatsoever.

If I could give a minus 10 I would! It is nothing but a scam. They make you think you are getting an insurance plan when in fact you are just paying for the services they rendered that day and pay over a 12-month period. I only took my dog in for an x-ray and paid $240 that day. Once I got home I started reading the wellness plan contract they sold me thinking it was going to cover all types of medical needs. WRONG I immediately call the next day and tried to cancel and basically told to bad I would still have to pay for ser... read more

They are horrible. They trick you into auto-renewing contracts that you cannot cancel (they say you can cancel at any time but you have to pay the full year and if you forget to call and cancel the auto-renewal, you have to pay for the next year.
