I paid an extra $20 a day for flexible travel. Tried to change the day of my drop off and the airport. Getting charged an extra $75 to do that. When I had picked up the car the attendant said it shouldnt be an issue to change drop off. Not flexible at all, don't pay the extra. Called 4 times for help. Got dropped 2 times. Got put on hold for 20 minutes... And had tried again. Every person said something different. App didn't recognize that I had picked up the car so it would … See more

Terrible customer service at both RDU and BWI. Our vehicle was infested with roaches. No true concern given from Avis. Unbelievable. I’ve rented cars for 45+ yrs and I never had an experience like this. Avis offered 30% discount for an infested vehicle. Wonder if customer service considered their family member traveling under those conditions. Infuriated.

I am currently sitting at Avis at LAX and have been here going on 2 hours waiting on a vehicle. This is the most unprofessional and poorly managed rental agency I have ever used. I will never use them again. Uploaded a pic from the line being outside the building and down the sidewalk

Worst rental experience I've ever had. I've rented many vehicles over my lifetime. My family needed a 7 passenger vehicle to drive around Idaho, on vacation, for 6 days. The rental price was already outrageous, but had no choice. While booking the rental online, Avis offered approximately a $300 discount for pre-paying in full. So I did. It took the price down from about $1500 to $1200. (SMH- for a minivan... - but again, I had no choice). Get better customer service personnel. I called to dispute a charge and the representative told me they are valid charges and politely told me to get off the phone when I was not done. i paid 3 times what I thought i was paying and clearly i am unhappy about that. Never paid this much and i use Avis all the time.

I left my amazon HD tablet (w/ charcoal case) at the vehicle (Blue VW Passat) returned to LAX location around 5am yesterday. Few minutes after I returned my vehicle and headed to the airport, Avis employee who received the car called me he found my tablet and told me file the report in order to recover the item as he will it over lost and found department. I have filed the online report yesterday and today I received the email that there is no tablet returned or found. I have been trying to call LAX location directly. Looks ... read more

i rent a car and pay for it online when i go to pick up the car they say they do not have any car available and in top of that i have to wait 5 days for a refund and look for another car in a city that i do not know . very bad service and very rude personal.

I made a reservation today at 12 noon for a pickup at the Charleston, SC Airport. I called one hour later to cancel. I was informed that I was going to be charged $150.00 cancellation fee. The Customer Service Rep wouldn't budge. The Supervisor wouldn't budge.I have been renting exclusively from Avis for ten years, but that didn't matter. They wanted their $150 even if it meant I would never rent from them again.
