Customer service reps are extremely rude and unhelpful, and quite frankly don't seem to give a rip about their job. I get its a frustrating job, but my lord....I placed an order, 3 days later it shipped, I figured it would be here in a few days....no my items are just sitting somewhere in NJ with no updates and the customer service rep, who was extremely condescending and rude, told me I just needed to wait or next time purchase faster shipping...? It seems AE may be running a scam. You place orders, they give the impression that the order is processed and "shipped" yet when you access the tracking id provided it indicates that the carrier (FedEx, UDS, etc) are awaiting the package and delivery dates will be provided once they receive the package. The carrier never receives the package therefore you never receive the product. This has now happened to me on multiple orders - - at first it seems like a simple mistake but after 2 more occurrences, this is no longer a mist... read more

I have ordered thousands of dollars worth of clothing from this company, and they have deleted my rewards account for the 2nd time. It is extremely frustrating as I have missed out on hundreds of dollars worth of earned rewards. It is awful to see a company treat good, return customers this way. If they do not want to give customers rewards for purchasing large amounts of clothing then they need to get rid of the rewards program. I came into the Exton Mall store on October 23, and they were out of stock of my size in majority of the jeans (size 4). I found a style of jeans I liked and the associate suggested ordering the jeans to be delivered. They told me it would be at my house in 3-5 days. On day 4 I received a notification my jeans were delivered. I searched EVERYWHERE and no package to be found. I then waited a few days for the package to arrive and nothing. I have been a loyal AE customer for years. I'm very upset that I have racked up enough points to receive a free pair of jeans and cant seem to receive the email to get them. After a YEAR of calling the customer service number and getting the run around...I'M DONE. Always a person on the other end of the line that can barely speak English. Then telling me there is something wrong with my email and needs to go to the tech department. I receive emails from them DAILY. So how is there something wrong with my email? The customer service is horrible. I made a cash purchase at a store and they stated the delivery would be between 3- 7 business days. It's been a month and nobody in the company answers why I have not received my package. I requested for a full refund, but they have not responded either.

I ordered clothes back in April 2020, I returned $91.51 dollars worth of clothing. They received my return on May 30,2020. It is now July 9,2020,I have spoken with 2 people who have informed me that my transaction and money were lost and they would "work on it." On Monday, July 6th, I wrote customer service for a 3rd time stating I want my money ASAP and I have not heard a peep. This is ridiculous and I will never order from them again and I will advise my friends and family to never do business with them too.

Clearly the customer service reps are working from home, I get it. However if they getting paid to do a job then they need to do it. I’ve been having a problem with my rewards since March. Spoke to ten customer service reps, 3 supervisors and 5 IT people. Problem still not resolved. At this point they need to refunded me all my money they I’ve spent for the points.
