Some of the hospitalists are great, and some are horrible. Hopefully you get Dr. Minesh Patel and not Dr. Kommineni. Dr. Kommineni will tell you one thing and do something completely different. ER physicians are hit and miss as well, they either have really awesome patient care or really bad patient care. However the main consistency is the nurses are horrible. They have no common sense. I experienced a medical emergency last month and found myself walking into SGER. I was honestly provided with the best care I could have asked for! I'm a Nurse and usually wait until a limb is falling off before actually going to the ER but found myself in the midst of a very painful Kidney infection. I was treated by competent and kind RNs and Physicians. I went through triage immediately, was settled and started on IV fluids and meds immediately. I had both my babies at shady grove, my last one was born May 4th; I want to give a shout out to Jillian and Phyllis from the L&D Unit and Glenda from mother and baby who were amazing nurses, I felt like they were friends caring for me, thank you guys! I hope you read this someday! You made a difference in my care and I will always remember you!
Kind competent cheerful, staff, clean modern facilities
Shady Grove should be ashamed for employing medical groups that do not participate in any insurance networks!! If you have an infant who goes to the NICU, PEDIATRIX OF MARYLAND will balance bill you for a large amount of money because they are not in any providers networks even though the hospital is in network. Shame on Shady Grove for putting their patients in these situations!!!
Pediatric ER and Pediatric unit 3d are amazing. Nurses and doctors are all wonderful. They are very thorough and attentive . They treat children so kindly and help them not be scared. You feel like more then just another patient.
I am in the business of helping people at home when they get discharged from the hospital. The team at Shady Grove Adventist go above and beyond to help their patients. So much so they have in some cases kept people and funded them beyond what Medicare paid. My mother-in-law was also a recent patient there and they were both compassionate and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend this hospital
