Cheese grits, black beans and fried fish are staples in any soul food restaurant, and this kitchen prepares them in the most traditional way. The owners opened the Birmingham restaurant after success with a couple of other locations in Florida, and just like in the Sunshine State, you'll find simple dishes made with simple ingredients. Open for lunch and brunch only, come and order some chicken and waffles and wash it down with a sweet tea, it doesn't get any more quintessentially Southern than this.

This place is awesome the food if off the chain very filling
The chicken and waffles were fantastic! The design of the space is also great!!
In search of GF food at a restaurant that wasn't some sort of bland meat with a salad, I decided to try Yo' Mama's. The chicken and waffles hit the spot! The environment is quaint and friendly. We had great service, and I will certainly be back!
My first time was awesome, the food was seasoned to perfection not to mention hot & fast,the staff was very friendly, they took the time out to come out to greet you & to also see how you like the food, I will difiantly be back
My husband loved his gluten free chicken and waffle. I got the fish tacos and they were delicious. So flavorful! Will definitely be back when in Birmingham
