Cheese grits, black beans and fried fish are staples in any soul food restaurant, and this kitchen prepares them in the most traditional way. The owners opened the Birmingham restaurant after success with a couple of other locations in Florida, and just like in the Sunshine State, you'll find simple dishes made with simple ingredients. Open for lunch and brunch only, come and order some chicken and waffles and wash it down with a sweet tea, it doesn't get any more quintessentially Southern than this.

The chicken plate was excellent..... My new restaurant of choice in downtown. The wait was not bad, but you better get there early if you want to beat the crowd.
I had the shrimp and grits and it was The Bomb!!! My hubby had chicken and waffles and it was delicious! ! We'll definitely be back!

My first time eating Yo' Mama's was about a week ago and it was yummy! Anyone who knows me know that I LOVE Chicken and Waffles!!!! Well I've been waiting for a place in Bham to have this on their menu and it actually taste good! Yo' Mama's is it. Chicken and waffles are yummy yummy yummy!!! I will be back
Absolutely Awesome!! Everything at our table was delicious. In addition to that all the food is made to order but still very timely!
