Cheese grits, black beans and fried fish are staples in any soul food restaurant, and this kitchen prepares them in the most traditional way. The owners opened the Birmingham restaurant after success with a couple of other locations in Florida, and just like in the Sunshine State, you'll find simple dishes made with simple ingredients. Open for lunch and brunch only, come and order some chicken and waffles and wash it down with a sweet tea, it doesn't get any more quintessentially Southern than this.

Amazing flavor!!! Gluten free options too!!! :D If you've never tried their fish tacos, you have to give it a go! I crave these now living in Atlanta! Good portion size for the price too. I want Yo' Mama's to come to Atlanta...can you make that happen Yo' Mama's?
I can't wait for this restaurant to open. My prediction for Yo' Mama's Restaurant is to be in the top 5 must eat places in downtown Birmingham.
I have enjoyed the chiefs creations over the years and looking forward to the newest establishment opening it's doors!
