Cheese grits, black beans and fried fish are staples in any soul food restaurant, and this kitchen prepares them in the most traditional way. The owners opened the Birmingham restaurant after success with a couple of other locations in Florida, and just like in the Sunshine State, you'll find simple dishes made with simple ingredients. Open for lunch and brunch only, come and order some chicken and waffles and wash it down with a sweet tea, it doesn't get any more quintessentially Southern than this.

Nice family ran restaurant! One of the sisters checked on our table and she was so sweet and welcoming. I hope you all continue to do well :-)
Do yourself a favor and have the stuffed pork chop on Thursdays. You will not regret it! Yo Mama's is such a cool place with the nicest folks in town serving up food. A stellar addition to the neighborhood!
