I deposited a $5000 check to my checking account on July 13, 2017. I received an alert message that the funds are being withheld until July 24th be a use of insufficient. The check was written by a local roofer as a refund check. The roofer's bank is local to my area not even 10 miles away from ant Wells Fargo in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Business response:
Today, July 19th, I met the individual that wrote the check at her bank. Bank teller verified that Wells Fargo never communicated with them about account had insufficient funds. Therefore, Wells Fargo had no reason to hold my money. Also, bank teller said check had cleared through their system.
I received a letter telling me that my account was overdrawn - an account that I thought had been closed 5 years earlier. I called the customer service department and they wanted to know the account number, which I did not have, since I had done no business with this bank in years. I gave them enough information to find the account, but they wanted me to provide lots of personally identifying information before they would talk to me. Horrible! Just one word, horrible customer service. I purchased a macbook from ****** and was charged twice. I called ****** and they gave me the authorization code to dispute the charges from Wellsfargo. Upon calling them, they said Wellsfargo can't do anything about it and will have to wait for it to fall off. This review applies to Wells Fargo corporate policy, not specifically to my local branch. I have used Wells Fargo (WF) on-line bank services for more than 10 years. Recently, for business reasons, I've tried using various software products and have attempted to "connect" those products with my accounts at the bank. On May 5 2017 I made a payment to Wells fargo on a loan my payments are due on the 15th of each month. On May 25 2017 I made a payment again for June but because I made this payment they say 1-day to early this payment was considered an extra payment for May. I was charged a late fee and had to make 2-payments when I went to pay my July bill. Wells Fargo would not accept the payment made on May 25 2017 for June. On June 21, 2017 my husband and I went through our local N. Naples FL drive-thru to cash a check made to cash for $400. We do this approx every month for petty cash, and ALWAYS have counted it in the past, but being in a hurry, for the FIRST time we didn't! We crossed the street and I ran into Walmart while he waited in the car. Horrible, was very respectful to customer service staff as i know most people woth problems are not very nice to them. I was hung up on twice and on the 3rd call i finally got to a supervisor who still could not help me get a fee removed that was because of something that happened on their end.
Ticket number ******* Wells Fargo has my insurance check that was given to me by State Farm Insurance and needed to be signed by Wells Fargo and returned to me so that I can repair my roof. I am not able to get them to sign and return my check to me. The stress of needing to repair my home and the emotional stress of trying to get money from them is simply too much. ****** **** Customer since 2006
I FILED A BBB THE BANK GOT UPSET AND CLOSED OUT MY ACCOUNT AND MY HUSBANDS ACCOUNT. MY HUSBAND GAD MADE TWO DEPOSITES TO THIS BACK WITH IN A DAY THEY BOTH CLEARED THEN WHEN WE TRIED TO USE THE MONEY THE ACCOUNT WAS FROZEN. I WENT DOWN THERE ASKING WHY THE ACCOUNT WAS FROZEN WHEN THE CHECKS CLEARLY HAD ALREADY CLEARED IT WAS SHOWING AVAILABLE BALANCE. I TALKED TO THE MANAGER AND STILL GOT NO WHERE WITH THIS IDIOT. TO I COMPLAINED HERE AND A DAY LATER BOTH OUR ACCOUNTS WERE CLOSED AND OUR MONEY WAS GONE IT JUST DISAPPEARED.
