I shopped around for a Medicare Part D plan and chose Wellcare. What I didn't know was that I would face a penalty for not having Part D or any other prescription plan since enrolling in Medicare. The penalty was more than I could afford. I called Wellcare every other day for three weeks and was on hold each time for 2+ hours every time. Once, someone answered and when I told them I wanted to cancel, I was disconnected. Time was running out for me to cancel. The most unpleasant experience I have ever had with a insurance company. The talk to me like I am stupid. Could not understand the foreigners on the phone. Very poor customer service. ****** ** ******

On October 31, 2021, I called WellCare to make a payment that was due, but their system was not working, and no one was available to take the payment, even though their messaging system said they were there on Sundays. Therefore, I called back on November 1, 2021, and an agent with WellCare took a payment from me which he confirmed paid my account until December. He assured me the account was reinstated. I have attempted to cancel my wife and my Wellcare prescription drug policy for several days. I was on the phone several times and several hours,I talked to four reps that had a poor command of English, the last rep stated she couldn't cancel us, however someone would call us the next day and help us. nobody has ever called. I sent an email requesting cancelation an am still waiting for a reply. I have sent two letters, the last today. I have stopped the monthly EFT withdrawls on both our accounts. This is the worst experience I have ever had. You call customer service and get bumped around and put on hold because no one knows what they are doing. In September I was told I was disenrolled from the program due to non-payment. I have a 3rd party who helps with my premium. They show that all payments were made. After speaking with them at the end of September I was told I would automatically be re-instated. Wonderful! Wellcare lied by omission, they did not tell me that presciption drugs are NOT COVERED!!!!

We had a prescription drug part D Medicare plan with this company. They discontinued the plan we had and we were supposed to be placed in a similar high deductible plan, we take no drugs so we do high deductible. I received my new card and called the company to activate it. I was informed that my new plan was going to cost over $68 per month instead of the $26 we should have had. I called the company to complain and get it changed, after 4 to 5 hours on the phone, four representatives and four supervisors I could get nothing... read more

In November of this year, I called to enroll on the Value Script Plan. It was made clear to the man who handled the enrollment that this was not an Annual Enrollment for me; this was my Initial Enrollment. As such, I needed the plan to begin Dec. 1, not Jan. 2022. I subsequently received a letter stating that the plan would start Jan. 1, 2022!
