Hello, I called to cancel my plan. Was on hold for 1 hour then cut off. Then called back and finally got a supervisor after another hour. Told me they could not cancel and I would have to write a letter or FAX them. They would not accept E-Mails or verbal phone calls. They wanted a reason which I do not really have to tell them but I went back to work and have full coverage. I now add that because of poor service I will never use this company again. I asked them "if I do not pay my bill will you cancel me?" they said yes. Ju... read more
I signed up for the WellCare Prescription Plan during the 2019 enrollment period after much research. I chose this company because they had the most reasonable costs for the medications which I take regularly. Today (11-1-20) when I renewed a prescription at my pharmacy the cost of the medication had doubled in two months. The cost in July, 2020 was $70.59 and today (November) the cost was $141.04. Initially the company representative told me that the increase was the decision of the pharmacy. I checked with the pharmacy and... read more
I would give Wellcare (wellcare.com) zero star if I could. Every time I call for anything, I get transfer to a few agents and each of them will ask for my name, birthday, address, and ID number. Their CVS-Caremark online pharmacy has no phone number and no FAX number. My doctor had to fax them multiple times, to multiple fax numbers, before a prescription got to the right place. I get $25/month online OTC (over the counter, no gift card) benefits but their UnitedMedcoPortal.com shop has almost everything unavailable to purch... read more

Good afternoon, WellCare has sent you an email and would like to assist you with any issues you may be having. Thank you
After looking at a side by side comparison of medicare part D providers with a list of the exact medications I take their plan was the least expensive so I chose them. The first 8 months were fine and Wellcare did exactly what they said they would do. In September to my surprise my copay on one of my medications went up 300% . After filling a grievance and waiting 30 days for an answer I received none. I tried to call customer service and was told their systems were down and they could not look into anything. Sometimes the l... read more
Every month I have to call and get authorization for test strips. This month was unbelievable, when the pharmacy called Wellcare stated the computers are down and can't authorize any prescriptions. The pharmacist stated to them that every month we have the same problem. I called my refill in on October 16 and today is October 23 and still no test strips. I have no idea what my blood sugar is high or low. I don't know how much insulin to take. I can have a diabetic seizure or coma. I had to miss work because Im scared to driv... read more

Good afternoon, I apologize about the inconvenience. Per you plan all diabetic supplies are covered through your part B. Per your eligibility you have part D coverage only through Wellcare. These diabetic prescriptions would need to be routed to your Medicare Part B plan. Thank you
After numerous years I'm dealing with WellCare I have spent countless hours just trying to get a simple doctor or specialist. WellCare charged my credit card twice for the same monthly payment. They blocked my attempts to pay the next month's payment even though I was not delinquent. I made numerous attempts to solve the problem with their customer service dept. in the Philippines. The people in customer are not well trained and could not help me. I did get a letter from WellCare's payment center in Chicago asking for payment. This letter did not include the month the payment due was for. I sent the payment (an amount to cover the remaining payment... read more

Complainant advised that he considers issue to be resolved. He explained that his issue was that he was originally billed his monthly premium on both 10/02/2020 and 10/03/2020, but he contacted Citibank and cancelled one of the payments. Agent offered to further look into this matter, but member stated he would appreciate it if no further action was taken as he considers this resolved. Member did express frustration at contacting customer service agents he spoke to that were based in the Philipines, as they were not very hel... read more
I am a member and wanted to but a medication called Dutasteride. It is a generic medicine and as a physician I can order from a wholesaler for $24. Wellcare wants $170. I think this is an unreasonable mark up especially considering that I pay for the medication coverage.
Business response:
The Plan has attempted to reach complainant to assist with resolution. Due to member being unable to reach the plan has not made successful contact. However, details providing clarity to the above reference complaint are available. Agent can be reached at the number reference on the voicemail provided on 10-16-2020. No further action can be taken at this time.
I am new to Medicare and Medicare Part D. I was sold this plan, Wellcare Wellness Rx (PDP), with an effective date of 10/1/2020. I have tried without success in ay sense of that word to discover BEFORE the plan starts how much I'll be paying for my medications. The experience has been atrocious and I'm not even in the plan yet. Through my own subsequent research I've found several other vendors who happily allow one to input the drug list and then see, in plain english, what the costs will be. Not so with Wellcare.
