We had a prescription drug part D Medicare plan with this company. They discontinued the plan we had and we were supposed to be placed in a similar high deductible plan, we take no drugs so we do high deductible. I received my new card and called the company to activate it. I was informed that my new plan was going to cost over $68 per month instead of the $26 we should have had. In November of this year, I called to enroll on the Value Script Plan. It was made clear to the man who handled the enrollment that this was not an Annual Enrollment for me; this was my Initial Enrollment. As such, I needed the plan to begin Dec. 1, not Jan. 2022. Does not pay your bills doctors will not see you
I think WellCare is a scam company. Their letter states you can cancel by December 31, 2021. I have called the number they provided to cancel on several times. They give excuses that their system is down or put you on hold for a very long time. They don't want to honor their policy of allowing you to cancel their policy. They seem to be trying to let the expiration date get here without giving you the chance to cancel. I refuse to accept their insurance and don't intend to use them. Impossible company. Cannot get through to anyone. For more than a week they have been having "technical" issues. Call back in 1-2 hours is the response. For a week I have been trying. Worst customer experience ever. I have been routed through a "special promotion" phone tree, hung up on, and been unable to reach anyone on chat or by phone. Below it says you can contact someone between 8-6 for support. No you cannot. Just be honest. Well care prescription drug plan will not remove my old insurance plan even though the old plan was terminated 5 months ago. They refuse to refill any of my prescriptions, even though I have paid the monthly premiums.
Recently I went to CVS to pick up a refill of Flovent HFA 110mcg and they informed me the cost was $90+. I told them it should be $43. They told me to call Wellcare. I called 3 times on 11/15/21 and their systems were down all day. I called on 11/16/21 and (after being transferred 4-5 times and waiting well over 1 hour) confirmed this is a Tier 3 drug, I have met my deductible and am in stage 2...Initial Coverage Stage, with a Marcus. Their online infrastructure is constantly crashing. It's been dysfunctional, and currently Nonfunctional, throughout open enrollment. As of today I am trying to keep my agents as calm as possible while they are completely unable to access any of the onboarding links, contracting links, etc and missing out on business. Not to mention trying to provide their Medicare clients with the coverage they need after having sold them on the actual and legitimate benefits of WellCare.
