Effective January 1, 2020, I was enrolled in a WellCare Wellness Rex Plan. I paid the entire annual premium in advance. First, WellCare informed Medicare that I wanted the monthly premiums deducted from my Social Security. I had to formally appeal that wrongful action to the Social Security Administration and eventually that resulting overpayment was refunded. My orthopedic doctor prescribed a hand brace for De Quervains disease. Unfortunately, WellCare would not allow him to give me the brace. I had to have the notes and request sent to my primary care doctor. My primary care doctor gave it to her nurse to review, the nurse sent it to the referral department, the referral department sent it to Baycare, Baycare called me to inform me that they don't take WellCare. DO NOT sign up with WellCare Medicare Part D Prescription plan. This company is horrible. My coverage became effective 1/1/2021. In December 2020 I notified them that I will no longer be receiving insurance/drug coverage through my employer. I answered all the required questions. I received a reference number for that call. Well, it seems that the agent never entered that information. I then received a letter that a penalty of 35.00 would be added to my monthly premium. Misleading advertising and my physicians will not accept the plan. The touted extra benefits are only available to in-network providers. My rheumatologist and my cardiologist will not accept WellCare.

The customer service is horrible. I'm constantly going back and forth between calling providers and Wellcare. I literally have issues using my insurance every time.

**STAY AWAY FROM WELLCARE** This insurance company is a complete joke! DO NOT let a loved one use this company!! My 87-year-old grandmother went into the hospital for pneumonia and low oxygen levels. After 2 weeks in the hospital, she was able to get released and the doctors suggested an acute rehab center where she could receive 3 hours of rehab per day. 6 days after the hospital submitted the request to WellCare they denied the claim stating "they did not feel she needed 3 hours of rehab"!! For any standard submitted request such as this one, the nurses have up to 14 business days to review once we receive and enter, urgent requests would be reviewed within 24 hours.

Their customer service is unbelievably bad. It is off-shored with poor voice connections at times. The support agents do not listen and will answer questions you did not ask. The website functions poorly and is very unintuitive.

I had a WellCare Part D Medicare plan for 2020. I paid my premiums automatically on a credit card each month. For 2021, I have enrolled in a new plan with a different company. WellCare has already acknowledged in writing (weeks ago), by mail, that I will no longer be a customer after 12/31/2020. Yesterday they erroneously charged my credit card a premium for January of 2021 that I do not and will not owe. The plan has made several attempts to reach the member with the phone number on file and has been unsuccessful. Calls were placed on 12/23 at 2:52pm, 12/23 at 6:04pm, and again on 12/28 at 11:27am, No Answer. Per msg the # we have reached is not accepting calls at this time. An Unable to contact letter has been mailed to the member as well as of 12/28. The plan submitted a request to the billing team for review. When you ask them to delete your name and address trust me you then still get more and more advertising in mail. Supposedly they told me i was off their mailing list. Well four mailings later today most recent. Sad to be aggravated by well care. Good luck in dealing with them. I am tired of being tired myself.
