Still happy – Wanted to check in again and say thanks to the gals at Venus. Jill has cut my hair several times with the same result: Easy to style, dry-n-go hair. Another perk to the dry cut method is that I can go for a trim during my lunch hour and still have time to eat lunch!
Thanks Again Susan! – Today (12/7/06) I saw Susan for a root touch-up. She does an excellent job because the color doesn't fade. I have naturally dirty blonde hair (which is now dark brown-thanks to Susan) & previous attempts at color with very pricey salons would fade after one shampoo. The first time Susan darkened my hair, the color lasted for months! Now, I only need the roots touched up every other month depending on my hair growth. Susan is truly a color expert! Great Ambiance,service,quality – I just had my 50th b-day and needed something extra. I came out with beautiful red hair with highlights of a different shade of red, and hope for my future. Ms. Venus really listens and was even able to intuit what I needed and wanted. The place is funky and cool, and enjoyed talking to Jill and the customers that stopped in. It has that cool vibe to it. I'll be back for sure!!!
I Love Venus Hair! – I come in every couple of months from West Texas to get my hair cut and colored. Venus is the best! The salon is always clean and friendly and the staff are creative and talented. On Saturday afternoons you can meet Huey Long, the last surviving member of the Ink Spots. On Tuesdays, Betty is there to give the best pedicure the foot massage I've managed to find anywhere.
Always a great cut – Venus has been cutting my hair for 10 + years and i always leave with exactly what I ask for... a little longer in the winter and a little shorter in the summer. Sometimes I get to visit with old friends and other times I meet new friends. LOVE IT! I was diving 25 miles and now that I have moved I will drive closer to 90 miles but it is worth evey mile! .
Not just a style ... an adventure! – This place is funky, eccentric, warm and has a real heart beat. It is not a homoginized, cookie cutter mall salon. I walked in as a brassy, washed out yellow headed mop and walked out as fabulous re-headed vixen! Great people watching too. It is terrific to see a business that is important to the community AND a community that is important to the business owner!
Jill is great – I was tired of paying $60-$100 for a haircut, so I started searching for a place to get a great haircut and not pay a fortune. I'm so happy I found Venus! They have great prices and the staff is awesome. Jill really listened to me and I walked out with the exact haircut I wanted and I still had money for shopping! Jill educated me on how to keep my hair healthy. She gave lots of tips and pointers that the expensive places never gave. I highly recommend Venus and Jill.
eclectic hair style in the heights – A bright, fun and artistic shop dedicated to style for both the eclectic and conventional customer. Venus' caters to a wide range of customers. I see the retirees getting their hair piled high, younger folks receiving muli colored styles and men shorn and dyed too. What a great find!!!! LOVE YOUR SHOP! It's like Big city meets Mayberry meets Northern exsposure meets Funky Town. No pretention here!!! You are made to feel right at home! Not like the generic , arogant , and sterile shop enviroments we are all use to. And I got a great hair cut!!! and I am picky. And a bonus is that you are surrounded by Antique shops, Art Gallerys, gift shops, vintage clothing, a deli a caffe etc, that are just as unique and awesome in there own right! 19th street in the Heights, a real Treasure!
