Come As You Are, Leave 20 Years Younger – My family and I have been going to Venus for 20 years. We trust our heads in her capable hands. She does her magic as she colors, cuts and styles the hair and we always look great as we leave her eclectic and interesting fun salon. I like the fact that she always shows me how to take care of my hair when I'm at home, so I look good in between visits. After a cut and color we look and feel 20 years younger and we have the complements to prove it.
BEST SALON EXPERIENCE EVER!!! – I am from a very small town where mainstreet is two blocks long. I felt like I was back home!! Venus and her husband were there when I walked in and made me feel right at home. I was a few minutes early and I was offered coffee, candy and oh yeah, homemade soup that someone had brought by. When Jill got there, we discussed what I wanted, she got the color book and we chose a color and highlights then got started. Best Highlight. Best Friendly Service. Funest Decore. – I have been using Venus for several years. She is awesome. For a highlight she gets the closest to the roots that I have ever had. Long time now!!! Everyone who works there are very plesant, always in a good mood. I would highly reccomend Venus, Jill and Sharon.
Thanks to Venus Hair I had one less thing to worry about for high school – I live in Lake Charles and i refuse to let anyone here do anything to my hair because of many bad cuts and color. I had my mom drvie me to houston in the rain to get my hair cut and colored for high school which was starting the next day. I am so happy we got Venus Hair to do my hair i got so many complients on it. it made me feel so much better about going into my first year of high school with a new hair cut and color that i loved
Friendly – I needed a cut. And I got exceptional customer service... and a trim. It was a nice experience. Very sweet ladies. But honestly--next time I want a trim; I'm not paying $30. However, it was definitely worth the trip. And I like the cut. Not love, like.
Don't let the amazingly wacky interior fool you, this salon is top notch! – I just moved to Houston and was looking for a good salon. The problem I have is that I was a hairdresser for quite some time, and I end up super picky. I also have a bizarre sense of humor and the last thing I wanted to do to get a good cut was to have to dress up, spend a gazillion dollars, and have some Buffy annoying me while I was paying for the experience. ABSOLUTELY THE GREATEST!!! – I have known Ms. Venus for 30 years and have had my hair cut there forever! She and her shop are absolutely the GREATEST! The atmosphere is wonderful, friendly and warm. A place in time one just loves to visit and stay a while. Some times I just love to stop by and visit. Venus is very involved in the Heights community and the 'Art Car Parade'. Venus is something special! She can make even me look special (well as close as anyone can). Thanks for all you do Ms. Venus. Pros: THE GREATEST EVER!
Unique Atmosphere, Friendly People – Went to Venus Hair after reading all the great reviews. The girl who cut my hair was nice, and the shop is definitely something to be seen, with lots of colorful art work and mardi gras masks . It's a very laid-back atmosphere, and it's a nice change from all the trendy mall-type salons. Prices are surprisingly reasonable, and they don't pressure you to buy products. Venus Hair – I have been to Venus two times and probably will go back. Susan is very nice and I think she does a good job. I am not really a fan of the dry haircut or highlights from the cap, but it turned out good and natural looking which is what I wanted. The prices are reasonable and it is a fun atmosphere w/lots of interesting people. I don't particulary like the way she styles my hair, but it looks really good after I fix it.
