It's just Aweful and the Clinic in Greenville Tx has gone to pot too!
I'm still shaking my head in disbelief as to what I was told by a VA Fee Basis employee. I also have this in writing. To make a long and rather sad story short, I'll just give a high level overview here. If you are Veteran and you live 40+ miles from the nearest VA hospital AND you have an emergency which requires a visit to a non-VA Emergency Room, if there is a Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) close by, you must go there FIRST to get help AND not the Emergency Room. The system is very broken but the providers on an individual level are usually very good. However, the night nurses on 5C-100 have been less than desirable this time around. No bedside manner. No introduction at shift change. No name tags. No people skills. No explanation of treatment or procedures. Very task oriented and not focused on the patient as a whole.
OK I have to give praise where it is due , so here it is. To the VA Medical Center in Dallas Tx THANK YOU!! Ok yes that was hard to say but damn you earned it from me . At 6 am this morning after fighting ear pain and not being able to swallow I went in for help . Pull into a full parking lot and my mind was ready for the normal fight ( you know long lines rude people ect...) but i was wrong. In and out in less than 2 hours. Very efficient and professional.
My husband went to their pain therapist in the Bonham clinic yesterday Dr. Gradas he was very disappointing he had had MRI and x-rays done with the neurologist and is not suppose to be doing anything to strain his back the doctor had him doing things that the neurologist told him not to do and he has been in severe pain since everytime the doctor would ask him a question he would not let my husband answer he would giggle and say I know the answer so he would not listen to anything my husband had to say he tried to make my hu... read more
Wait wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Overall it was great.
Compared to the VA in charelston South Carolina this place is golden! I had hardly any wait for my labs and meeting my primary care doc was quick and easy. He had my referrals done and ready in no time. The best VA hospital I've been to!
