As an RN and a disabled vet, I am very pleased with the care I have received in the clinics from the doctors, the nurses and the support staff. I have had 2 surgeries in the hospital and both were successful with good after care and follow up. The remaining 5th star I deliberated over because you are so overloaded with quantity of vets you serve, there are delays.
My Dad has been waiting 3 hours to see the optimplogist. And still waiting. This is so very sad.
My husband has always been well taken care of. He is very happy with his treatmemt and doctors. We both noticed a good change the last few visits, havent seen staff just hanging out in hallways, visiting talking so loud you could hear them down hallways. Seems like everyone is busy and they also have been very friendly and helpful. He had day surgery yesterday and it went very smooth and I appreciate the nurses being so nice and they took awesome care of us.
My husband tore his rotator cuff tore tendons In biceps tore tendons into shoulder 5 months ago we have been jumping through hoops to get appointment for orthopedics I'm mad there's no reason for it to take that long to see a specialist that's no way to treat our veteran's
Parking is the big problem at the Dallas V A Hospital. It took me 45 minutes of driving all over the parking lots to find an empty space. There are two new parking garages being built but they already look too small for the amount of traffic at the hospital. They canceled my appointment because of the parking problem making me 45 minutes late. I rescheduled but must wait another month for my appointment.
Going for a x-ray between 6 am and 8 am is a.mistake. they check you in but don't inform you that all of the X-ray technicians are on the floor taking x-ray.what a stupid system. Why would you send everyone away but have people check in for a service. There are ten People waiting but no one is being seen. Never have such awful service been given.
The only problem I have had is finding a place to park being a heart patient sometimes that is fun
I think it's great for veterans to get the care they need. Certain parts of the VA services can be improved.
So much is getting done now. I had to file an appeal although I have med records showing when I got hurt in A.I.T.... What really got the ball rolling was reaching out to the Congressman of my district and its all good so far. Fingers crossed though because we know there reputation. Im a strong supporter so far.
