Unbelievable bureaucratic obstacles to care! There is an obnoxious phone tree that takes you in circles -- cannot reach a live person most of the time, and even if you do, they are nothing more than a gatekeeper who takes information. God forbid you should have an urgent situation. Your options are Emergency or extended wait time for an appointment... our Vets deserve better care!
You go to see the doctor and the nurse does the vital signs and questions about what ia going on with you.. Put the info into the system.. Now get this. I ask where ia the doctor ?. Responded by the nurse the doctor is not available and she is messaging the doctor. No examination to vision the patients. If you have a bad sinua infection with ear aching and sore throat you would think that a look in the ear and down the throat to see what is going on. Every time I call the phone rings constantly or the line is busy at Tyler, TX
Simply amazing in their care! They understand the situation and help me walk through it!
I think it's ridiculous that when you call for an appointment, the phone rings and rings. Is anyone working there at all?! This is not for only the Dallas VA Center but ALL the centers. As I am writing this review, I am on the phone trying to make an appointment. So far it's been 5 minutes of constant ringing with nobody picking up. Don't they get tired of hearing the phone ringing and ringing or are they now immune to it and don't give a darn about the patients. Like the person before me, I am getting hung up on and transferred around. Can't get anybody on the phone. Can't even get the operator to give me the extension to call. My mother usually resorts to the ER to get anything done. There is nobody who coordinates care. As a nurse, I find this system IMPOSSIBLE to navigate. Heck, if y'all would like to respond to this message to coordinate surgery, that would be great.
