In light of recent current events regarding the DC VA and the facility in 2015 and 2016: This is 2018 and there have been giant improvements in the Patient Experience at the DC VA. That is my experience. I have received excellent, intensive care at the Washington DC VA, beginning in July 2017 and continuing to this day. I am a Post 9/11 era female veteran that was injured directly supporting the War on Terror. Under Secretary Shulkin's leadership- within 3 months of the April 2017 DC VA Public Safety Warning- the facility ha... read more
I've had my gripes with the VA and learned that when you hit a problem you have to advocate for yourself and speak out. That gets the train back on the track so, don't gripe about it say something. I have never talked to anymore more uninterested or who seems to hate their job more than "Tracy", an operator who directs calls for the Medical Center. I haven't even gotten a chance to come to the hospital yet .. and this is not a good sign. Please hire competent people at the VA, even for admin positions - you are doing a great disservice to veterans and their families by providing such poor service. It's really a disgrace. Please get it together.
I've had some good experiences with the VA Medical Center and I've had some bad ones. I keep getting a letter in the mail stating that my claim has been denied from a surgery that the VA approved back in 2015 I don't get it why are they doing this to me?
I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and all of the medical staff have been amazing! I have been schedule for surgery and the surgeon, plastic surgeons, and oncologist have all been awesome and have made this very difficult time much less stressful. Thank you for hiring such wonderful medical professionals!
