OptumRx continuously auto-refills medications that are not setup for auto-refill. I call every time and try to get the shipment stopped. They tell me that somehow, the system keeps enrolling me in auto-refill. They then ship the medication anyway and bill my debit card that I never gave them permission to use as a default. I used the debit card once by adding it to the slip you send in for an outstanding balance. They then entered that as default payment on my account. I constantly call and login to remove the card. They con... read more

The State of New Jersey recently dropped Express Scripts and signed a contract with Optum Rx, a division of United Health Care, to service the State Health Plan. I am covered by the plan, as is my wife, through my employment. My wife requires a special medication called Prograf, which she takes to prevent her body from rejecting her transplanted liver. There is a generic version of Prograf; unfortunately, when that generic drug was introduced and prescribed to her, it caused her Liver Function Test to render abnormal, dange... read more

Deliberately miss led about cost, final bill very high considering that the actual administration of the medication was done by myself and no education required because I am an RN, and the medication was an inexpensive generic antibiotic . Customer service people rude unprofessional and uninformed. Very unhelpful always had an excuse not to connect you to a supervisor. One person I spoke with was actually eating. I would not advise anyone to use this company.
OptumRx is the mail order pharmacy of United Health Insurance’s AARP Medicare Rx Preferred plan. I became a member as of January 1st 2018. I have been a member of that insurance in 2015 but used another insurance in 2016. The following is a description of my first attempt to fill a prescription using the mail order service. My physician sent a prescription to OptumRx in early January, along with my new membership information. Since I was low on the medicine, I called OptumRx on January 16th to verify that they have received ... read more
I have been taking the same medication for 15 years. As of 01/01/2018 United decided to use OptumRX which now requires a prior authorization. Since then the nightmare has started. I received my prescription dropped it off at my pharmacy but my pharmacy told me that OptumRX now requires a prior authorization. Reluctantly I call my doctor to get the prior authorization which eventually is declined. After calling OptumRX I find out they declined it because it was the name brand and not generic. They also told me that my company... read more

I've had UHC for a couple of years through my employer. I had no problem until this year when the insurance changed to have UHC cover all of my medical, rx, and vision. I have an autoimmune disorder that requires me to take Humira. The cost of that medication is upwards $4000. Last year, i had no issues with using a card from Abbvie to cover most o fthe cost and I had to be $5. That first dose of the year covered my deductible. This year, UHC decided to make changes to not apply the card from Abbvie to my deductible. They cl... read more

My health insurance through work has recently started promoting optumrx as The best choice for prescriptions. I opted out but no one there had a clue since my husband and I each receive about 5 phone calls apiece everyday. We won't answer and they won't leave s message or send mail.

We have been with United Healthcare/OptumRX and have had nothing but problems, inconsistencies, and out mis-information from them. I had 3 presrciptions filled at Wal Mart Pharmacy and then received a letter from UHC/OptumRX stating in order to get the prescriptions for less money, I needed to switch to mail order and recieve 90 day supplies. I went ahead and followed their advice. HUGE mistake!! Two of the medications were Tier one, so no charge. One of the prescriptions was Tier 3 and they stated I would get a 90 day suppl... read more

The company left a voicemail saying they needed authorization to ship a medication to my doctor's office for a $0 co-pay. I returned the call and was informed no one was able to assist me and that I would have to call on 1/1/2018. I stated that was a holiday, but was told I could get help then. I called on 1/1/2018 and was told they had to reprocess the billing of the medication and it would now cost $1000 but they would help set me up for assistance from the manufacturer . 5 phone calls later (because no one can resolve thi... read more
