I have been utilizing this company for my flex spending account for eight months. In the past my company contracted ADP and Health Hub. They were great. The turn around time on claims for dependent care was 2-4 business days. The latest claim I sent to UMR took 20 days to turn around, or 14 business days. The previous claims have also taken a really long time. The quickest turn around time was 8 business days. <p>I have little to no complaint regarding United Health Care, but the mail order pharmacy Optum RX has repeatedly complicated our ordering of Diabetic test strips that our insurance claim payment is ZERO dollars. Optum RX would have charged me over $500+ on my debit card for those test strips IF they had access to my debit card! They do NOT have access to it due to having TRIPLE charged us in the past for insulin pens at over $400 a pop! It has taken me three weeks to get his current 90 day supply of test strips, and we hop... read more

Organization will not allow a customer to fill a 90 day prescription 30 days at a time causing financial hardship to families. It is a ridiculous policy understanding there is no difference in filling a 90 prescription in either way.

My mother has had nothing but trouble with Optum Rx. She called to refill her medication on Saturday, thinking her medicine was on the way. Optum called her on Wednesday to say her credit card did not work. The lady from Optum ran her card one more time and magically it worked. She told my mother that they would ship it over night and she should receive her medication on Friday. Their treatment of customers is appalling. They keep changing covered medications so "auto-refill" medications are not filled, and there is no notification. This has happened to me 3 times so it is not an isolated event. The customer service automated prescreen takes a ridiculous amount of time, then places you on hold. When (if) you get live person you are usually transferred and then disconnected only to get to go through the whole experience again. BTW, tried website - error message- try again later. Do not use this company!! They do not care about you and only their money! The bottom line is that I lost the use of my legs; I need a new wheel chair; and I have been using a loner wheel chair for 7 months, as Optum refuses to accept the return of a chair they wrongly delivered. SCAM! SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM! People's health and lives are not a business to decide to try out. They demand customers use CVS pharmacies or pay a higher price, they don't disclose accurate tiered pricing information and won't give visibility into drug costs (even for generics!). The management of this company belong in prison for Fraud and financial crimes.

Optum RX is terrible. They lie to their customers. Make mistakes , hold medications. The company should not be in business. It has been 16 days and a dozen phone calls and still don’t have an inhaler. I’ve heard so many excuses I can’t take it any more. The reps. Are making serious mistakes and all they can say is I’m sorry. My dr. Has had to call and I was promised my medication. They mixed medication up and sent way to much medication I didn’t need.
