I was forced to switch to this company 3 months ago and it has been a complete nightmare every step of the way. At least half of what the previous company covered is not covered at all by United. I currently am assisting with a bodily injury claim from a motor vehicle accident on behalf of my father and UHC has paid for some bills and have contracted Optum for subrogation purposes. Optum has sent over bills to USAA (1st party) & Geico (3rd party) but half of the bills were not accident related, in which I contacted them to advise for the removal. United Healthcare's customer service is poor (I spoke with 4 different representatives who provided different answers as to why a certain benefit had changed). Overall their services appear to be designed to discourage customers from seeking care, for example requiring a customer to fill out a reimbursement form to correct an issue that UnitedHealthcare caused.

UHC is the most unethical company I have ever dealt with. Earlier in May of 2018 I paid over $16,000 for an Intensive Outpatient Therapy out of pocket. I have paid monthly payments for health care and I am still not reimbursed for my out of pocket expenses. This is not brain science to handle these claims. I called today and now they tell me that I have to wait until November 15, 2018 to check again. United Health Group has a Shady RX Home Delivery Pharmacy called OptumRx. They basically give you a total run around. I told them not to fill a certain Medication called Eliquis, way too pricey. I am a senior and have to pursue this through Social Security. They were taking so long to fill the rest of my medications I told them to expedite them, at a charge of $12.50... I pay them to cover my health and medications. Pretty simple. However somehow they believe this includes deciding what medications they think I should take. I was forced to switch medications despite my numerous attempts to explain the medication I take is the only one that has worked in over 20 years. I pay them over $600 a month so they can tell me to take a medication that Interferes with my life. It affects my work and my home life. I only chose one star, because there are no negative stars. I talk to an advocate, they confirm coverage, state when prescription will ship, with an estimated delivery date. When that date comes and goes, I follow up with a phone call. After they hang up on me at least 3 times, then the advocate determines they screwed up, then the tell me their system is being updated and then will get back with me next week. I have been with UHC for over 2 years now. My daughter had surgery over 1 year ago and today almost 15 months later, they decided to REMOVE ALL THE PAYMENTS for her surgery for NO REASON. When I called them, they stated she was covered under another person's insurance and that was their daughter, not mine.
