UHC and Optum have little to no competency in helping patients. Calling from a providers office, I spent well over 2.5 hours on hold with both companies getting transferred back and forth between then because they could not figure out who wanted to own up and be the responsible party to cover the patient's medicaiton and would inevitable get hung up. Claims process is very slow. Some taking over a year to process leaving patients with unpaid bills.

You may have thought the insurance character on "The Incredibles" was a little over the top. Surely a business doesn't actually work this way. After moving jobs over a year ago, my wife and I had to secure new insurance. Shortly after, my wife was diagnosed with cancer. She went through treatments and surgery. The cancer appeared to be taken care of. They immediately denied the claim using "preexisting condition" as their basis. On 3/7/19 I went to the MED Express in Altoona, PA for treatment for slight chest pain that I believed (later on through other medical professionals confirmed) was related to bronchitis and a sinus infection. I was given an EKG, which I agreed to as I anticipated the results would come back negative for a cardiac event. When the PA who was seeing me reported the findings to me, they discovered that I had a "slight depression" in my heart beat. I was then sent out on an ambulance to the nearest ER. Every site that rates Briova RX gives an average of 1 star. Most people would give 0 stars if possible. Need I say more? We have been waiting for a week for a life saving cancer medication; we have been put on hold, been told daily that it will arrive the next day, "dropped" (aka hung up on) seven times, given a tracking number that leads to nothing, assured it is on the truck, basically been lied to. Do not give these people your information ever since I signed up and then had to cancel I have eight or nine robocalls a day!!!

At first they threatened not to cover my refills unless I used their mail order service. I like my pharmacy and they are nice people in my neighborhood. OK I get it it might be more cost effective to do mail order so I go along. Then the crap happens. I have diabetes and my medication at 750mg was pretty cheap to refill with optimrx for a 3 month supply, something on the order of less than $20. My doctor increased my dose to 1000mg, a 33% increase in my dose because my numbers were going up. At first they refused to fill the... read more

Unfortunately my experience is no different than the others on this site. I allegedly have a past due balance with BriovaRX but cannot get an itemized statement. I have spend way too many hours on hold and getting transferred and still on hold with no answers or results to spend any more minutes of my life with these idiots. My health care provider has gone out of their way to try and help but keeps getting told by BriovaRX they cannot speak with them because they are not me. THEY ARE THE PRESCRIBING PHYSICIAN!!!
