Terrible insurance. I've been covered by Aetna, Cigna, and BCBS and have never struggled so much with finding in-network providers and having annual wellness visits covered at no or low, reasonable costs. For an insurance carrier that costs more than competitors, you get next to no coverage. Perhaps coverage is better in different regions but on the West Coast, big-name, reputable health systems are not in-network. I sent back one bottle of LOSARTAN TAB 50MG after confirming on the phone with OptumRX that it was a recalled item. Tracking showed that they received it on Jan. 2, 2020 at 9:11 am. I was told a new bottle would be sent to me as the replacement. I called them again because I never received the replacement just to find out that they cannot ship a new bottle without my doctor's approval. It sounds illogical so I asked for a refund. I just signed on for their 90 day supply program thinking this program would be easier for myself and my Doctors. Easier by not having to worry about getting my medications every 30 days or bother my Doctors as often for refills. Was I ever WRONG! The portal for ordering is not user friendly as orders don't show up, are wrong or even disappear. Incompetent phone support where no one knows anything about how to help you and you have to spend ridiculous amounts of time on the phone just to get simple answers and explanations. I've had to call multiple times to correct their errors. I am forced to use them to get an important medication for my daughter and I dread dealing with them each and every time.

Last week I went to the pharmacy to pickup my medicine and the pharmacist told me that United healthcare refused my request because I have a secondary insurance. I was really shocked to find that, in realty I have no other insurance. The pharmacist told me to call them and talk to their customer service about the issue. I called and the lady who answered the phone told me that I have a discount card from Good Rx and that's why they rejected my request for my medication but she told me that she will call the pharmacy and also... read more

They have refused to provide itemized billed to me for over a year. Turned me over to collections. Won’t worked with my myobloc Reinbursement company and continually lied to me saying they will email itemized bills to me but ever would. I discontinued the services I needed and just paid the bills out of my pocket since I can’t use my reimbursement company. Stay away from them.

United Healthcare has been nothing but trouble since I signed up with them in December 2020. The so called $50 OTC merchandise, includes the tax on the items and then when it was tracked as delivered, but wasn't delivered, I was passed from place to place and told to reach out to Walmart since they shipped it. When I tried to get my medicine from the only pharmacy in town that delivers, (I am disabled), I was told I had to order online. Last week I went to CVS to fill several scripts for my ultra rare disease, LAM, with my new UHC exchange plan card. It's a Platinum Compass plan for which I pay $1437.88 monthly in order to continue my treatment with specialists at Columbia/New York Presbyterian. I am self-employed and have no choice but to use exchange plans. Seems AARP has been paid off to endorse these disreputable insurers...their customer service function is nonexistent ; they are not accredited by The BBB; and they prey on seniors unable to understand the ever changing Medicare regulations and restrictions. I have brought suit vs. the company for mail fraud and damages I sustained because of their inability to provide coverage. I have also filed a complaint with The US Attorney's office for Florida .
