I am a RN and have had the WORST experience trying to help a patient with a prior authorizations that a patient NEEDS. I was hung up on twice, instructed to give codes that I have never had to use, and then transferred to the pharmacy which had nothing to do with the PA nor could assist me. I feel bad for patients that have to use this company and have told patients not to use them
My employer requires us to have an account with Optum Bank to receive HSA benefits. Optum Bank would not reveal terms of service before I signed up. I had to agree to terms that were only available after I agreed to them. For example, they would not tell me what interest rate they paid on deposits or what fees would be. That is some really shady business practices. If my employer didn't require it, I would not do business with Optum Bank. Avoid Optum Rx at all costs. The customer service is terrible, they screw up insurance, promise refunds and then don't deliver.

Someone in back office enrolled me in medical, dental and vision when I only asked for dental. UMR debited my account for an unauthorized amount causing a huge inconvenience. Taleah, Jaun and Pam assisted in getting the refund but all of them lied throughout the whole process and it was a disaster trying to get my money back. Never in my 20+ years as a physical therapist have I ever seen such unethical behavior as I’ve seen from this joke of an insurance company. Constantly demanding treatment notes, then saying they’ve never received them after we have submitted them 4-5 times. Keeping providers on hold for 60+ minutes every time we call. Delaying payments by months and months. Depriving patients of necessary visits with no just cause. This company is awful. Bad service, Representative speaks a version of English that's nearly indecipherable. Never sent my id card or my policy. Never told me about late enrollment penalty on HMO policy even though I can find meds cheaper on my own and have no intention of using their drug coverage. If I could give them a zero star, I would.

I had problem with a claim and my customer service person, Emoni was fantastic! We are both from North Carolina. I had a procedure done and it showed I owed quite a lot of money for it. I Emoni found there had been a problem with one of the codes. She actually called the place that had billed me (with me on the phone), and explained that the claim was late in being processed and that I should not have to pay anything, She saved the day for me and is an absolute delight to speak with. :) Linda *****

Avoid OptumRX all all costs. They are horrible. I need daily prescriptions for a transplant and they can never deliver on time . I go days without my prescriptions and sometimes have to go to another pharmacy and pay out of pocket costs after begging the pharmacist to give me a week to ten days supply because Optum hasn't delivered my medications. When I call I get a different reason each time why my medicine is not delivered and usually I am on hold ore being transferred around over an hour each time.
