Run AWAY from any contracting with United whether you are a patient or a provider. They have scammed thousands of dollars from my business by not paying patient claims. They don't pay providers even minimum wage by the time they have resent claims multiple times, wasted hours on the phone trying to get claims paid. If you are a patient or provider who's claims are being denied report them to the Office of Insurance Commissioner for the state.

Terrible insurance! They never want to pay their members claims. Their in network changes regularly because phycians stop taking the coverage due to failure to pay claims. They tell you they'll pay when you call prior to a visit, but then reject the claim. They refuse to give you a benefits book, but tell you they will only cover what's in the benefits book. After spending an HOUR on hold with OptumRX, I requested a callback. 5min. later I got a callback and was put on hold again. Finally I called United Health Care, the parent co. of OptumRX, and talked to a rep. that finally got a OptumRX rep on the line after a 30 min. wait. General Electric really needs to take a good look at UHC & OptumRX, to see how their long time employees/retirees are being treated. I received an email from them today informing me that an order was being processed, for FIVE MEDS I DO NOT NEED! I recently ordered and received from them my needed refills, so this was a surprise! A few months ago, they sent Lantus, insulin that I have to pay for, although I already had several months. I did NOT request this! Since it will keep in the refrigerator, I kept it. Optum Rx the worst mail order pharmacy I’ve used in 48 years. They did not get me my insulin pumps until I ran out and had to go to ER not having a way of enabling insulin since no pump. They told me twice in 10 days they were overnighting them. Never came. I was without insulin for first time in my life Due to having to live with no pump. They could have killed me. Very dishonest company. If you need meds to survive, do not count on Optum Rx. They cannot be trusted. STAY AWAY!

There is something severely wrong with this company. Every attempt to order medication requires a minimum of four calls that are routed to five different people, each one more incompetent than the last. An example from this month’s refill chronicles: -I call Tuesday to refill. They need prior authorization from my “insurance company” every time I call (hm, my insurance company IS Optum, since UHC owns them! How convenient. I have AARP Medicare Complete through United Health Care. One of the things covered is get prescription eye glasses every two years with a limit of $300. My eye doctor Dr. Harald V**** is on UHC In-Network Providers list. The eye clinic Complete Eye is on UHC In-Network Providers. When I had my annual check up my vision had changed a little and I had not updated my glasses in three years. So I told them my insurance had a $300 for glasses. 9/2/2020 Update I received a call from UnitedHealth Group, who evidently took my recent review very seriously. I spoke with a really lovely woman who went over every detail of my prescriptions and orders and assured me that she would do everything humanly possible to ensure my medication would not run out again & that my orders would go more smoothly from here on out.
