I rented from u-haul and had to extend my rental. They called me 3-5 times everyday harassing me that I kept it even though they knew I extended my rental. They keep charging my card for different amounts. I called them and asked why they charged my card and they said because I still owed from extending my rental. I already paid them $430 in cash on top of them keeping my $100 deposit from my card, now they have charged me another $55 a month later. I had to call and cancel my card. Not only does U-Haul University of Texas not care about their customers, their employees did such a terrible job attempting to install my hitch and wiring that they blew all of my fuses and caused a total system failure of my brand new car leaving me marooned for days in New Mexico where I had to be towed from the side of the highway. Despite alerting management and their customer "service", I have not received any acknowledgement of the issues, expenses, nor the danger they put me in. The worst company out there for moving. They will take every penny you have and say it takes you 7 days to drive 2,000. I said i needed 4 days but I'm forced to pay $1,800 for 7. BS uHaul.

They have decent equipment, and when they have what you need, it's great. On the other hand, I had reserved a 6x12 covered trailer at a local dealer a couple weeks in advance. When it was time for them to make the phone call to confirm the reservation, they informed me that the local location no longer had the equipment I had reserved. Now I was being told I would have to drive over 50 miles away to pick up my desired equipment. That is not at all convenient and defeats the whole concept of making a "reservation". Fraud and lies. Uhaul changed a reserved truck for a buck. They took it upon themselves, after confirming a date and truck, and then changed the date by pushing the reservation forward to a different date in order to rent the truck out to make more money. They lied, were extremely rude and did not stand by their original confirmation with the customer. Avoid this company at all costs; they are not reliable.

I'm not even sure where to begin. I had to move from NY to NC and had to get an emergency U-box from Uhaul. I called customer service and a friendly lady suggested that I rent a trailer first and move all my stuff to that trailer and then to a U-box the next day, as they couldn't deliver the U-box to me for the date I needed. She promised that for that reason the trailer would be free of charge - I would only pay for the u-box. Uhaul is misusing the word "reservation." I reserved a moving truck weeks in advance at a nearby location. The day before, due to a high impact area, I was told I would need to pick up the truck at a location 7 hrs away across a mountain range. They also said I would need to pay for the gas. They also claimed my initial reservation didn't have equipment available, which is completely false. I specifically selected a location that had equipment available.
