Set in a restored early 20th Century meatpacking warehouse, the restaurant carries on the North Carolina barbecue tradition by serving full-hog, pit-cooked pork, and other barbecue essentials. But The Pit is more than a generic barbecue restaurant: it combines the generous portions of classic meat-loving joints with some surprises. The pork is free-range, and guests can enjoy barbecued tofu, wines, cocktails, and a comprehensive list of bourbons.

Amazing food! Authentic BBQ. Great service! Can't wait to go back!
We always meet our son here for lunch or dinner when we visit him at N C State University. It has become a well loved family tradition. The baby back ribs, pork Bbq, fried chicken and Mac n cheese always are on our plates. Even the valet attendants make the experience fun. Thank you for great food, environment, and service. Some of the best food I have ever eaten! Couldn't find one thing to complain about! Your manager Joe is fantastic too! Not only did he represent the restaurant well, I saw him pitching in taking away bus bins and refilling drinks. Great service!
Omg this is the best southern food !!! Love love love going to this place. It's the best BBQ around!!! Deviled eggs and banana pudding is a must!!! Mmmmmm SO Good!!!
The waiters at The Pit are absolutely fabulous. So caring and ready to please with smiles. The food is delicious.
Excellent food, very gracious and attentive waiters!! Chris was such a gentleman, and Brandon was great too. Treated us "out of towners" as if we were family friends. Would highly recommend.
