Set in a restored early 20th Century meatpacking warehouse, the restaurant carries on the North Carolina barbecue tradition by serving full-hog, pit-cooked pork, and other barbecue essentials. But The Pit is more than a generic barbecue restaurant: it combines the generous portions of classic meat-loving joints with some surprises. The pork is free-range, and guests can enjoy barbecued tofu, wines, cocktails, and a comprehensive list of bourbons.

Busier than we expected, but the food and service was well worth the wait. Delicious
I was here 6 years ago and it was great, this time...not even close! Service was great, quick and friendly! Apps were ok as were the sides (I had greens & black eyed peas-Great!). Then I had a half rack of baby backs. The bones pulled right off but the meat was hard and flavor less. They soaked it in bbq sauce before serving and after tasting, I saw why! Absolutely hands down the best bbq I’ve ever had. Maybe From the West I don’t get Southern bbq. Yet this is amazing.
Excellent food and excellent service! The door greeters we’re fantastic.. it didn’t stop there. The best waitress was amazing.. the food was world class....
Overrated. Food came out while still eating appetizer. Ribs nothing but fat, little seasoning on sides, and BBQ was extremely salty...won’t be back any time soon
The food was excellent. Homemade is great. And the wait staff. Each table has a team to take care of them. How great is that! Love it!
