Set in a restored early 20th Century meatpacking warehouse, the restaurant carries on the North Carolina barbecue tradition by serving full-hog, pit-cooked pork, and other barbecue essentials. But The Pit is more than a generic barbecue restaurant: it combines the generous portions of classic meat-loving joints with some surprises. The pork is free-range, and guests can enjoy barbecued tofu, wines, cocktails, and a comprehensive list of bourbons.

Biscuits were as hard as hockey pucks. Barbeque was good.
Friendly staff! We sat at the bar and the bartender was very helpful!! The food was simply incredible!!! I especially loved the Brussels sprouts and the turkey! We will definitely return f our travels bring us back to Raleigh!
Awesome place! Had the smoked meatloaf, fried green tomatoes, and fried pimento cheese balls!YUM. We had the best server, Oz, who was so attentive and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for those visiting Raleigh. Ask for Oz!
First time and definitely want be the last time! My double meat dinner was amazing! Shaun was our server and I must say “hats off” to him because he did an amazing job!

Bad! Bad! Bad! We visited Memorial Day weekend and it was disastrous! First, they were out of everything! Second, we waited an hour and a half for our food and our waitress only appeared twice. She seemed completely clueless! The manager said yes, we are having a bad night! I get that you can have a bad night but it is how you handle it that shows who you really are! Food was great, areal southern treat. Service was excellent as well. Over all a great experience we will be back in the future
