Set in a restored early 20th Century meatpacking warehouse, the restaurant carries on the North Carolina barbecue tradition by serving full-hog, pit-cooked pork, and other barbecue essentials. But The Pit is more than a generic barbecue restaurant: it combines the generous portions of classic meat-loving joints with some surprises. The pork is free-range, and guests can enjoy barbecued tofu, wines, cocktails, and a comprehensive list of bourbons.

I really enjoyed it. We had a few hours to burn waiting for the train. The deviled eggs were amazing! Fried chicken was delicious. Well done!!!
The bbq was soaked in vinegar to the point it was almost trash... the mac n cheese and mash potatoes were great though...the brisket my friend ordered was pretty good but over priced in my opinion... the atmosphere was great but the parking is terrible on a Saturday...
Food was amazing! Dessert were so good and large amounts! no wait on a Saturday night!!
It smells horrendous but the food is really good so that's why it's a 2 star rating
The food was great. The service was poor. Paid more attention to larger groups than my daughter and me. She got the wrong side dish, but we could not correct because no one came to check on us after food arrived.

I Marion just love the place it's a nice eating environment and the waiters are very nice and the valet parking people are very nice too,I'll tell everybody I know to go there to eat or drink,just love the place.
Service was excellent - soul rolls are delicious and thst chocolate cake is divine ! Always someone checking our table - enjoyed it
I stopped eating pork and beef in 2014, so I was delighted to enjoy the chopped turkey BBQ at the Pit. Great service during our visit.
