The Pit offers some of the best barbecue in Raleigh. Set in a restored early 20th Century meatpacking warehouse, the restaurant carries on the North Carolina barbecue tradition by serving full-hog, pit-cooked pork, and other barbecue essentials. But The Pit is more than a generic barbecue restaurant: it combines the generous portions of classic meat-loving joints with some surprises. The pork is free-range, and guests can enjoy barbecued tofu, wines, cocktails, and a comprehensive list of bourbons.

Tonight at the pit I order fried wings which the waiter said he has never done and they came out amazing . I love this place . Hats off to the chef and my waiter at the bar for checking on this.
Popped in for a quick bite downtown to sample some appetizers and can't wait to come back for a full meal. Excellent quality, great atmosphere very classy place.
Went there yesterday around 3 pm. There was a graduation going on downtown so the place was packed. I Got the seasonal salad, with spinach, fresh strawberries, candied pecans and goat cheese that was literally to die for. I got the balsamic vinaigrette. Our server was super busy but also super friendly and helpful.
got the combo meal and it was delicious. the servers were very courteous
My first time at The Pit, and it won't be my last. One of the best briskets I've had in a LONG time! Didn't even need a knife to cut it. The staff was kind and personable, and they provided excellent service!
My wife and I ate here for the first time last night and we loved it. The staff was super nice and our waiters took excellent care of us. Defiantly a treat for us, will return on our next visit
My church members were bragging about this place. .... the food is horrible!
The beef brisket melts in your mouth mac and cheese was great. Thanks for a great lunch.
Good atmosphere, food wasn't great. Baby back ribs were dry and over-cooked.
