I shopped at Home Depot today, since I am a 30 year ************ veteran I ask for the veteran discount and showed my military ID card. I have done this for years. However, I was told there is a change on how Home Depot applies this discount.The sales person explained I needed to apply ONLINE to get some ** Code. Down load it on my cell phone. I was at the **************** location today attempting to get 4 cans of paint of a custom color. I need 2 cans of a specific red and 2 cans of a specific blue. These are custom colors for a company logo so they can't just be something close. I needed help trying to figure out which color to use so it would be a match. A lady in the paint department was trying to help me about 12:10 pm when the young man working laughed at me about trying to color match these custom colors. The Home Depot advertises 10% off purchases for military members and spouses. I used to be able to use my military ID. Now they have changed their process where you have to apply and upload your ID. After numerous attempts and complaints to do this, telling me my ID was not legible, or my names didn't match, they finally accepted my paper work. Ordered a washer/dryer in November 2021, that was scheduled to be delivered and installed on January 15, 2022. On the delivery/installation day, the delivery team did not reach out to me during the delivery window time provided. South Common ******** Home Depot. Relatively small project order, lumber, boards, countertop. Supposed to arrive before end of Dec., no show no call. Very hard to get answers where is the order. Shows up damaged Jan 7. Re-order supposed to arrive by Jan 12. Since that date spoke with 3 different managers, first one who placed the order (Raj) promises call back. My 80byear old mother bought a fridge during Thanksgiving. The first one was denied delivery because it had 3 holes in it. They blew off the second delivery. Today they were late, and were going to leave the fridge in the yard! We made sure it was in the delivery instructions it needed to be brought in and set up. Corporate hung up on me, and I missed 3 days of work waiting on a delivery. I'm going to talk to a lawyer.

The credit department is so out of touch with business. I had the Home Depot credit card some years ago and closed it due to how they process charges when they decide and the customers will be charged a late fee. Recently I opened it again during Christmas so my could save on a purchase she was making. I tried to set up automatic payments but their website was not working, so I sent in the total balance to avoid any late fees or late reporting. I stood in line to checkout for 10min. While I stood there I saw many employees standing around just talking to one another. There was one person in front of me buying one type of item. The self checkouts was open however. Unfortunately, I will never use a self checkouts. I will always find somewhere else that is willing to take my money. Unless they want to start crediting my purchase for the amount of time I spend doing that job for them. So I put my stuff down and I left. Not to return.
