The Great Lost Bear has become a Portland institution since opening in 1979. The "Bear" is located about two miles from Portland's touristy Old Port but well worth the journey across town to the Mysterious Woodford's Area. The Great Lost Bear features an enormous eclectic menu with something for everyone: from hearty, spicy junk food to a large vegetarian selection, from steaks, salads and All American Burgers to award winning, wicked gooey desserts... all served in an entertaining atmosphere.

Great place. I've had a ton of memories here! Old school Portland brewpub with a wide variety of food and spirits.
Buffalo chicken salad is delicious with ranch dressing. Great food, fun atmosphere, excellent service and the best beer selection.
The food was very good the waitress was friendly but we waited forever to get our check and the kids Were getting antsy. 😖
Atmosphere was great, our waiter was excellent, food and drinks were delicious, and the price was acceptable. Look forward to our next trip to Portland and dine there again.

The food was very good and great portions. A lot of beer choices and just by chance we were sat next to The Kist soda sign which was a soda company my parents owned many years ago.

It was my first time to The Great Lost Bear 🐻 I found their wait staff to be very attentive and friendly not pushy at all. The food was very good 😊 I would recommend the spanakopita appetizer it was very well made! I will frequent this business for sure. Anxious to try the drink 🍹 selections next time!
