The Great Lost Bear has become a Portland institution since opening in 1979. The "Bear" is located about two miles from Portland's touristy Old Port but well worth the journey across town to the Mysterious Woodford's Area. The Great Lost Bear features an enormous eclectic menu with something for everyone: from hearty, spicy junk food to a large vegetarian selection, from steaks, salads and All American Burgers to award winning, wicked gooey desserts... all served in an entertaining atmosphere.

Had a great time. The wait staff was fun and knew their job. Would highly recommend The Grear Lost Bear any day of the week!
Great Lost Bear is the BEST! Great Beer, creative and delicious food! Always something new.!
Good "bar food". We really enjoyed the marinated mushrooms and mac & cheese. The many beer options was great. My beer was not very cold though. Our server did not deserve a tip. He only took our order and gave us a check at the end. Someone else brought out our food. Our server never checked on us nor refilled our waters. Parking is limited. The swinging door is a hazard as the servers rush thru it with no regard of others.
The food was good and I will go back for more and had a good time with friend Rachel

This place was great, awesome beer selection and epic menu - even kept my fussy vegetarian happy! I loved it.
Great ales. Delicious pulled pork nachos. Waitress was absolutely charming.
Ate here tonight on our way to Island Falls. The food was wonderful, the service was excellent, and the people working here are great! If I'm ever in Portland, Maine around dinner time again, this is where I'll be going.
Ate here last night with my son after a long day moving him out of his apartment. The food was excellent, the service was excellent, the atmosphere is awesome. Had a good time. Will definitely be back!
