The Great Lost Bear has become a Portland institution since opening in 1979. The "Bear" is located about two miles from Portland's touristy Old Port but well worth the journey across town to the Mysterious Woodford's Area. The Great Lost Bear features an enormous eclectic menu with something for everyone: from hearty, spicy junk food to a large vegetarian selection, from steaks, salads and All American Burgers to award winning, wicked gooey desserts... all served in an entertaining atmosphere.

Great atmosphere, good service, cold beer, great food!!
I craved their buffalo wings on a regular basis. Whenever I'm in the area, I always stop.
Our waitress forgot about us. Took about 10 minutes to take our drink order after we were seated. We are sitting here with empty beer glasses,10 minutes now. I think she's in the weeds. Maybe she's new? Katherine
Had the teriyaki mushrooms and hot mess and they were very good. We figured since those were good our burgers would be amazing. I had the patty melt and she had the bacon egg and cheese burger. It pretty must tasted like nothing. We didn't want to say anything since it was busy. Service was good but was dissappinted with the burgers. We are from up north so we wanted to try a different place.
Just the best! Highly recommend the chicken wings and the buffalo chicken mac and cheese!

Been waiting for years to get out here from California. My family and I finally made it out and what an amazing place. Top to bottom just terrific, from beer to food to atmosphere. Can't wait to come back for more!
