The Great Lost Bear has become a Portland institution since opening in 1979. The "Bear" is located about two miles from Portland's touristy Old Port but well worth the journey across town to the Mysterious Woodford's Area. The Great Lost Bear features an enormous eclectic menu with something for everyone: from hearty, spicy junk food to a large vegetarian selection, from steaks, salads and All American Burgers to award winning, wicked gooey desserts... all served in an entertaining atmosphere.

Love the food and the atmosphere there. And of course the tall beers for small beer prices mon and tues. ��. Great place to hang out and catch up with friends and family ! �
My 3 sons & I went there last night to celebrate their father's birthday. Their dad passed away in January. My ex loved the great lost bear & so do we. Their food iis excellent & their service is superb. We have been quite a few times & we will continue to go there.

There were 6 of us for a bachelorette party, and despite being very (very) busy they took the time to accommodate us and even gave us two tables together so we could fit better. Our waiter, Joe, was such a trooper on dealing with our loud, crazy antics! Thank you guys for making a great dining experience for some out of state ladies! (Great vegetarian options too!)
This place is really great , we discovered it one day looking for something new and unique and we found it. Great food great reasonable prices.
