I have Aetna medical and dental insurance and this has been a horrible experience for the following reasons: 1. The website does not work and I cannot find out if a provider is covered by my insurance 2. The LIVE CHAT feature does not work 3. The reimbursement process is deliberately confusing (this also applies to the policy documents) 4. Aetna asks me to pay for coverage through their website when it is really the healthcare provider that I am supposed to pay. Where’s the negative star?? I’m new to this insurance and they have denied every single claim. I have spent HOURS on the phone multiple times to deal with same issues. They always say they will call back and never do. I don’t think it should be legal that I work for *** and I’m required to use the insurance company they own!! ******* horrible. Avoid this company at all cost. What the hell are they even doing? They are just hiring high school dropouts. The automation is outdated by two decades. Worst exp I ever had with an insurance company. And we all know insurance companies in America are already crap. These guys are just taking advantage of that and you.

I wish I could give this company a negative star. If I had a choice, I would not use this company. This company categorize everything as experimental even if it is a procedure done routinely. I had two small procedures done since I have had Aetna through my company -10 years: spider vine treatment and non-invasive knee surgery. Aetna counted both as experimental procedures without consulting the doctors nor the hospitals to avoid their part of the responsibility. In the last enrollment period, Aetna persuaded me to switch to another plan of theirs. Even though at the time of initial enrollment I have provided Aetna with the name of my PCP doctor, this didn't come through and the doctor's name did not appear on my new card. I discovered this fact only several months later. Good thing I did not see my doctor in this time period or else would have ended up footing up the bill at my expense. In the last enrollment period, Aetna persuaded me to switch to another plan of theirs. I was sent a letter about a "out-of-network" claim. The preferred network on my Aetna card is ****** ****** ****** ******* ** ***** In the letter they are claiming that I received these out-of-network services from **** Coordinated Pro. As of posting this I have not called them to resolve this issue. However, this should never have been an issue in the first place since it is actually part of the preferred network. We’ve had Aetna for years through my husband’s employer. 2020 Aetna started not paying some claims with the excuse that they needed more information for us regarding another insurance we might have. I have contacted Aetna multiple times through phone to state we don’t have any other insurance. That seems to fix the problem at the moment but the problem comes back on the next claim.
