If I could leave zero stars I would! This is literally the WORST insurance company I have ever dealt with. Everything is always denied. Everything! Doesn’t matter is it’s covered or not, I have coverage yet my last denial said I don’t. I have serious complications, I’ve sent in proof! MULTIPLE TIMES! Denied, saying I have nothing wrong. After speaking with an Aetna representative re; info on their coverage, (I did not want to go with their company), I started receiving pamphlets and pamplets....they had signed me up WITHOUT my permission>!!! I only found out when I had to get a blood test and someone called me and told me that I would have to pay them $75.00 as I was with Aetna.....I told them that I was not and that I was with Medicare only.....apparently Aetna now is going to tell everyone (doctors, pharmacy etc that I am with Aetna).....I consider it fra... read more
This is one of the worst insurance companies anyone can deal with , if you have to file a claim with them then expect your stress level to skyrocket. These people play games with you or rather stalling tactics to find ways not to pay you a dime, they send you the same documents 2 or 3 times a week, have you taking the same documents to your physician to the point the Dr. get frustrated and start complaining about signing the same documents over and over. if you call and speak with a rep they lie or make up excuses about your... read more
Absolutely the worst insurance I've ever had. Had to go to an urgent care clinic they only paid $11.25 out of $225. Biggest scam ever. Why bother paying for insurance if they don't want to pay for anything.
Horrible experience! They continue to withdraw funds from my pay for services never received. After losing insurance and attempting to be put on my husband's Aetna plan, we have encountered problem after problem. Even after receiving documents proving we were married, in the time frame they requested, they approved then terminated my coverage within a week. They seem to be completely corrupt or incompetent, it's difficult to tell which. Last year my wife had a medical emergency which required an ambulance ride to the ER followed by overnight hospitalization. I received 10's of thousands of dollars of unpaid bills. Upon calling Aetna, I was told that my wife was not on my plan, which is absurd and untrue. They checked a little more, and, oops, turns out she is on my plan, so, "we'll reprocess those claims." TERRIBLE!!! I would give them negative stars if it was an option. I have had Aetna medical insurance for almost 10 years. Last year, *** bought them. Now I understand why my chiropractic claims(which they always paid in the past) have been denied. My chiropractor is in their network and I believe we get a maximum of 20 visits a year. Aetna has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They do anything possible not to pay a claim. I have wasted hours on the phone trying to get a claim paid and have been given a run around. Everything from dropped calls, to customer service people in foreign countries with strong accents, to claiming they did not get mail or faxes set by me and my Dr's office are ways. This company should be investigated, they remind me of the insurance company in "**********, insurance carrier ***** ********
