After being with Aetna for over ten years, we no longer could afford the increasing high deductibles and high premiums, our company left Aetna in December 2017. By ACA law, all ******* health insurance providers have to pay a rebate to their customers. It is now June 2018 and still no rebate check from Aetna. To pay them all that money (over ten years of coverage), have crappy insurance, and them hold out on what is lawfully ours, is pretty pathetic! Don't ever use Aetna for your insurance....its all about the money with the... read more

Our family pays full premium for our primary dental through my military retirement with ***** ******. We opted to take Aetna Dental as a secondary through my husbands job to pick up what ***** doesn’t cover. After paying them hundreds in premiums, I used Aetna for the first time on a dental crown, they only paid $37 for my crown leaving us with a $450+ dental bill. They told me if they were our primary, or if we didn’t have any other insurance, they would have covered the whole amount of the crown less a $50 deductible. What... read more

I am very unhappy with Aetna. The only good thing I have to say is that their representatives are very friendly. The call times are long and their computer system is often down. Whenever I call, the representatives tell me that my issues will be resolved, but they are not. Aetna punishes you with very high copays for seeing an out-of-network doctor, even if that doctor is the only one who can effectively help you. I have some claims from a year and a half ago that Aetna has not addressed, even though I have called them many ... read more

I want to take this opportunity to advise everyone NOT to do business with AETNA. Back in 2013 I enrolled in Aetna Voluntary Fixed Benefits Plan through the T**** **** I paid premiums for several years. However, when I applied for benefits, the adjusters were completely unhelpful and completely unwilling to accept documentation. They made it as difficult as possible to reimburse as promised in their marketing collateral. Since then, I have also learned that they were running the State Bar insurance site at one time and were ... read more

I took my daughter to a follow-up appointment yesterday with an in-network orthopedic surgeon to review MRI results. It appears she has a small broken screw fragment or metallic debris from a prior intervention that causes her knee to lock and makes it difficult for her to walk. The doctor recommended arthroscopic surgery and scheduled her surgery for tomorrow. Today, I received a call from the surgery center letting me know they were cancelling her surgery because they are not in-network. After spending an hour and forty fi... read more

I called Aetna today regarding a non-specified request on an EOB for more information on a claim submitted by my PCP. I assumed it would be a routine issue, and easily resolved. It was, but only after 20 minutes (roughly) of explaining what Medicare Part A was to a non-US service representative (with broken English). Princess (her name as she it related to me) was aware of, but not knowledgeable of the Medicare program by her own admission. I am currently covered, as I tried to explain to her, by MC Part A only, and that the... read more

we have been waiting 17 months for our case to be resolved. everytime we get close they delay processing and want more information. they have everything. they apparently think we are to give up and go away. no chance. we look forward to our day on court. i believe employees are given bonus based upon denials.

I despise Aetna. They have rejected so many requests from my doctors, required so many unnecessary tests before approving the tests requested by my doctors, and rejected so many claims. I've called them so many times to appeal decisions, and have successfully had the decision reversed every time - but the amount of time they've wasted and stress they've caused has been outrageous. I want single-payer healthcare for many reasons, and a new one is that I want this entire industry to die because of my experiences with Aetna.

I am not very happy with the service my mother is receiving with this company. my mother has dementia I have been trying to pay her bill over the phone for almost 15 days . i placed a complaint..She is not able to access her health records herself or pay her bills. Her lawyer drew up a POA and I sent this to Aenta a couple of years ago.. I called over 2 weeks ago and was told I needed a password on the phone. As far as I know there is not a password. I asked to speak to a supervisor who still did not want to help me. Now I h... read more
