This insurance company has provided me and my provider misleading and ambiguous information regarding dental coverage. This coverage is the only reason I chose Aetna. Buyer beware they tell you one thing than they do not cover services even though they confirm coverage of basic dental care with both you and the provider. Had Aetna been truthful and transparent regarding what they are now saying is "their mistake " I would have not gone for this dental care at all or chosen a different provider. I think that Aetna is the worst carrier! Not only have they outsourced all of their calls; they are now outsourcing the claims processing. It is a nightmare for both the provider and the member to get any results when Aetna is constantly underpaying or denying claims. I would not even give them 1 star but I apparently have to in order to file a review.

I got a breast ultrasound on March 12, 2021, and August 31, 2021. I live in ** and the state law indicates that I should not be billed for this. AETNA made a mistake on my account by sending me a check that should not have been sent. Over the past few months, I have been trying to resolve this issue. Unfortunately, the treatment I have received has been less than professional. In particular, this morning on October 22, I was given an extremely rude treatment by one of your representatives. Absolutely the worst insurance company I have ever had. They are deceptive, more so than most insurance companies, and are terrible to work with. On multiple occasions I have found providers THROUGH THEM - clearly labeled as IN NETWORK and found out after the fact that apparently they're not. I've taken video and pictures of their website showing these providers marked as in network and they do nothing to help or correct the issue. Billing mistakes costing our family thousands, poor customer service, horrible wait times and availability, and general indifference regardless of who we talk too. Opposite of being valued. We have recently had our second baby. Unfortunately, Aetna has made another billing mistake that will end up costing our family thousands of dollars. I am a mental health provider and have made complaints to my Insurance Commissioner as well as the US Department of Labor (self-funded insurance programs) about Aetna. They have been erratic in payment and I have 9 unpaid and denied claims that date back to May of this year. The most frequent reason given for the denials is that I am not an in network provider with Aetna. However, I do have a contract.
