Aetna Medicare plan is a rip off. They take advantage of the elderly. My mother inform Aetna prior to the open enrollment that she would be going with another carrier at renewal. Aetna continue to re-enroll her and basically told her she could not change carriers at renewal. If ZERO was an option or negative points I would give them a big fat 0. Just switched over to Aetna cause of a job. Went through their process to get my medication. 2 weeks later I get a letter in the mail saying they are denying my request for medication, because I didn't get this Autoimmune diseases after my 18th birthday. I work for a billing company that provides billing services for medical providers. I have been at this job/billing for over 6 years. My company bills out services to all the major Insurance carriers - Aetna, Aetna ****** ******* ***** ********* ********* ******* Medicare, Cigna, Humana and many other health insurance companies. I went to have a COVID TEST done and wasn't able to. The reason why is because I had a virtual visit. Since the visit was virtual doctor had the order the test up to the insurance company for the next day, instead of same day. Why can't the test be order for the same day? This is ridiculous if I am showing symptoms the doctor should be allowed to run the test... technically I can get the test done same day, but I would have had to pay out of pocket and then hope that Aenta reimburse me... which never goes well. Is 0 stars an option? This is the worst experience I've ever had with an insurance provider. I'm convinced they are running a scam. I mailed in my claims and got a letter that I was missing information on them. I added the information, even though my previous insurance provider never needed it and my provider never before had to provide it and remailed all the claims. Aetna is a prime example of what is wrong with our healthcare system in this country. I was denied coverage for back surgery that was absolutely necessary less than one business day before the scheduled surgery. Due to covid restrictions on hospitals I had to schedule this surgery almost 3 months in advance. I am a senior inflicted with disabling sciatic pain in my right leg. My specialist doctor did a spinal injection to relieve the pain, but it did not help. He requested that I get an MRI with contrast to rule out a spinal tumor. I am nearly 80 yrs old, I needed to cancel a Medicare Part D Policy as the pharmacy they are linked with is too far away. I have spent a good part of nearly 3 days on the phone, I was disconnected, sent to the wrong department, given the wrong phone number, could not understand people's accents.
