Denies claims…requesting same info over and over. Never did pay a dime….worst insurance company ever! Dumped them..better off to keep premiums and pay OOP.
I'M A PROVIDER AND I WAS ON HOLD FOR 30 MINUTES BEFORE SOMEBODY FINALLY ANSWERED THE PHONE! THIS INSURANCE COMPANY IS ONE OF THE WORST INSURANCE COMPANY AS FAR AS CUSTOMER SERVICE IS CONCERN! PATIENT HAS COVERAGE THROUGH AETNA. THERAPY CHARGES WERE DENIED AND THEY SAID IT'S THE MEMBER'S RESPONSIBILITY?????
Aetna is atrocious. Avoid them if you can. I'm on my university's student health insurance plan so I have no other option, but I've been on the phone with them for 30+ minutes and I haven't yet talked to someone who even understands my question. Their call reps all have an extreme lag and we struggle to hear each other. DO NOT CHOOSE AETNA. CHOOSE ANY OTHER OPTION.
Total lack of responsiveness. Delays claims. Denies valid claims prescribed by doctor, delay treatment for 30 days and expect resubmitted documents to delay treatment another 30 days. There systems don’t communicate with each other and their process is broken. Lack of caring for inreds medical needs— just a number to them— and they let you know it.
As a provider, I am appalled at how I have been treated recently. The people who answer after I have gone through the automated responses know far less than the automated computer. I spent over 2 1/2 hours, calling 4 times and being kicked off 4 times. The rep said that they had my number in case that happened, but not one of the 4 ever called back. Zero stars!
Calling into member support for health services is AWFUL. I have called multiple times to reconcile which of my claims are paid and which are not-asked for transaction receipts for all paid claims and the employee's were not able to understand my request and I could not understand any of there broken English. Nothing has been resolved as I continue to try to get confirmation and which claims are completing processed and paid and receive record of proof of payment. This one of the worst insurance companies I've ever used. I only use them because my company does. They mostly try and deny claims. Doesn't matter if you've check the website - called multiple times to make sure you've got the right information and you're covered, etc. They find ways to push back and or suggesting it's not their fault. You spend hours trying to resolve. Do not use them if you don't have to!!!
I will echo what many others have shared, the stall and deny tactics used by this organization are underhanded and ethically wrong and corrupt. I have already filled once with the WA State Office of the Insurance Commissioner (https://www.insurance.wa.gov/) and the State Attorney General's office. I had an oral airway appliance made for my sleep apnea. After a year, yes a year, my dentist office was at their wit's end for reimbursement. The worst health insurance Ive ever had and i only had it for three month through an employer. Had to pay ridiculous amounts for basic pregnancy test (while they advertise their maternity coverage as full and don't let you see detailed documents) but the worst part is the customer service.
