If you need to file out of network claims, be prepared for Aetna to consistently enter the WRONG information in their system. It does not matter that you sent in a receipt, that the receipt is legible, has all required info… they have repeatedly made up provider names for my claims. I am then forced to call multiple times to address these issues so that they will process my claim. as others I would give zero if possible, Absolutely no customer service, the call center is full of background noise, and even simple question like providing a copy of summary of benefits and coverage they can't do!

They denied my wife’s MRI thats been scheduled for over a month just 4 days before it was to take place because they don’t want it to be through the UW. The only place in our area that can do it. They promised over the phone we would receive details on alternative yesterday. We have received nothing. They are actively contributing to my wife’s suffering. They do not follow through and their customer service actively lies.

Been fighting a claim for Covid testing from 12/2020 till now. It’s been nearly nearly two years and they just barely made things right. NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING UPFRONT!! Aetna will fight tooth and nail to try and not pay you back for it, even though you call and check that it’s covered before you set up the appointment. I had to place a formal complaint through BBB in order for Aetna to even START looking at my claim 1.5 years later. Absolutely ridiculous. No providers. We have an Aetna EPO, so no out of network coverage. When employer switched us from ****** to Aetna, we lost our pediatrician, my GP, and all specialists for myself and husband. Our kids have not seen a pediatrician in 16 months because we can’t find one in network and accepting new patients - and we are in NYC, not rural Alaska! I would give zero stars if it were possible. The company denies pre-certification for cancer treatments based on age even though they have pathology reports showing that the cancer is the most aggressive form of cancer possible. Nothing like knowing that my life is less important to this company than a few dollars.

They would not pay for my dad's pet scan to check for Cancer. It is a life saving test. He does have Cancer and they won't pay to see if it has spread.

farce. BEWARE! Go to *********** ********* ** ** because that's the company that withdrawals from bank accounts ILLEGALLY! Check the reviews. Myself and MANY others going back at least 3 years have had bank account information stolen and funds withdrawn. Also, IT IS NOT INSURANCE on Medicare Supplemental Insurance. THE CARDS SAY THIS IS NOT INSURANCE! This is fraud, deception and much more. I’ve dealt with Aetna twice this year. Both times have been absolutely terrible. The first time I was trying to find out what happened to my health incentive funds I earned by jumping through their hoops. One customer service rep after another told me conflicting information. It took weeks to figure out the answer to a pretty simple question. The reps don’t have the training or incentive to give you the correct information.
