Got my Jeanne d'Arc piece finished up and as alway, my time spent at the Purple Lotus was a joy, and i am so happy with my new ink. Shavon was wonderful and patient with me while i had my tense "ouch" moments. She is so good at helping you relax! My boyfriend brought me in for my first tattoo today!! Shavon and Alex were both excited about helping me cross over to the "dark" side! I gave Shavon an idea for my tattoo and after questioning me extensively she came up with three pages of designs. I performed a great deal of research of all the tattoo parlor / places throughout South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina in preparation for getting my first tattoo. The Purple Lotus is a beautiful little house that has been converted into a home where body art is created. Its a comfortable relasing atmosphere, beautifully decorated in Asian motify, extremely clean and the owner and artists and all of the employees are friendly, helpful, encouraging and just Awesome. I just got Body Art number 3 and would go nowhere else except to the Purple Lotus.
This is the ONE AND ONLY place to get your tattoo in Columbia. 4Real...! Alex ROCKS!! They did what everyone else told me couldn't be done, and for less $$$. Thanks Alex!! I walked in with a very vague idea of what I wanted for my next tattoo and what Shavon did with that idea was just amazing. Its far more than I could have hoped for and I know that its a truly original piece which is what I was looking for when I decided to get a tattoo that reminds me of my daughter. I felt like family there. I got a piece that I can be proud of and know that it will never be copied. When people ask where I got it done I'll definitely be sending them to the source. i came in with a lame out-line (that i got at five points custom, and was grossly over-charged for) that i needed to get filled in. Shavon was straight up with me told me it was whack and i respect that. Alex, the other artest who works there did an awesome job, fixed my cobra and now i have something that i can be proud to hav eon my body. i would def. recommend shevon's shop to anyone who wants an original (truely custom) tat.

This place is AWESOME! Alex did an OUTSTANDING job on my first tattoo. The people are friendly and professional. The shop is very clean as well as the tools.
