Just had my second wonderful experience with Purple Lotus today...and i can't imagine letting anyone other Shavon tattoo me. The minute you walk onto the the front porch you know that you are someplace really unique and special....and inside is the most UN-"tattoo parlor" looking places you can imagine. When most people think of a tattoo experience, they imagine going into the studio, picking a tattoo off the wall or out of a book, and getting it done then and there. If instant gratification is what you want, Shavon is not the lady for you. Although she does have art books, they are not prominently displayed and you will not walk out the same day with a tattoo. When I went in to talk to them about my tattoo, I had a color picture and an idea. Shavon drew up something beautiful, which I was able to go by and see beforehand, so that we could make any necessary alterations to the pattern. None were necessary because it was beautiful. The reason I stopped in at Shavon 's is after reading all the reviews on this page,about 25 of them at the time,not anything less than 5 stars. The second that I stepped into the Lotus I was treated like a friend,and still am even more so. I was pushed toward Shavon by someone that sparked up a conversation with me after seeing my sleeves. As soon as I walked into the studio, I felt an instant connection to the place. I felt really comfortable with the atmosphere. I can honestly say this is one of the most unique tattoo studios that I had been into. Shavon and the Purple Lotus is the place to go if you want quality, custom ink. My husband (Dave) and I have had work done by Shavon. I'm working on a half sleeve and when I met Shavon, I was a tattoo virgin. My husband has around 40 tats and he doesn't let people touch him if he doesn't like them and he has had some extraordinary work done here at TPL.
