I decided on the Lotus for my first tattoo and I am glad I did so,I am positive they did everything possible to make my experience a delightful one. I took Shavon a horrible picture of a Fleur De Lis. (Its a French symbol in case you werent sure what that was) i was covering up a tattoo i already have that was a big mistake. i was pretty iffy about it because all of the 3 previous tattoos iv gotten in SC have been embarrassing to show off they looked that bad. I would reccommend that everyone go see Shavon at the Purple Lotus. I went in to get my very first tattoo and from the moment i walked in the door was both happy and impressed. She is the nicest person with lots of spunk. I got 3 notical stars on my hip, that turned out better than i even had pictured in my mind. I love this place! It's like going to a different world! When I went in and explained what I wanted to Shavon and she drew it, it was exactly what I wanted. I got a lower back piece that would blow your mind. It's still a work in progress, but Shavon and the whole staff are like friends now, and the whole experience was enjoyable. GREAT TATTOO!!!!!! After being butchered at a shop in 5 POINTS and walking away with a bad taste for tattoos in general (My first tat ever.) Shavon and the Purple Lotus has completely changed my outlook on the whole process. Her 17+ years as a true artist really shines through. This was my fourth tattoo, my second in Columbia. Shavon did an incredible job; Purple Lotus is definitely the only place I would go in Columbia for a tattoo. She is a creative, fantastic artist who cares about the quality of her work, and she made my experience a great one. They have a beautiful place that is warm and inviting, and unlike any other tattoo parlor I've been to. I get compliments on my new tattoo daily! If you want a tattoo, go to Purple Lotus first! Otherwise you'll have to go there later to get a cover-up!
Shavon tattooed me yesterday and it was the best tattoo experience Ive ever had. She does amazing work and the entire staff do all the important little things to make the experience great. Im definitely going back for more work. A+
After much research and touring the local shops in the area I decided to get my first masterpiece from the Purple Lotus studio. I can tell you that they will have my business for life after my experience there. Shavon and Alex are wonderful; they made me fill right at home. The atmosphere of the studio is Warm and inviting, the staff friendly. Unlike some of the other shops in the area I felt that they where very concerned about every aspect of my experience.
