I am a big fan of Shampoo Avenue B. I was referred by my aunt, who attends the Jersey City location (and who, I might add, has ever-fabulous hair). I was given one of the best cuts I have ever had at the East Side location and highly recommend in a city filled with so many salons. Great atmosphere and knowledgeable staff.
I had a great experience getting a haircut with Aut a couple years ago. She gave me exactly the cut I asked for and it was one of the few times in my life that I didn't hate my hair the following day. Everyone was also very friendly and the wait wasn't too long despite the salon being pretty busy. I've since tried out other salons in the city but nothing has compared, I'm heading back to Shampoo Avenue B!
When I went to Shampoo Avenue B for the first time last week, I was on the fence about getting bangs. I really wanted them, but wasn't sure how they'd look with my face shape. First good sign was that my stylist had perfect hair, so I felt like I could trust her judgement. She was super honest with me, talked about what we'd need to do to make bangs work with me face, and gave me a couple options that all sounded great - but without pressuring me one way or another. I was referred to Shampoo Avenue B (specifically to Carlos) by a friend when I moved here a few years ago. I am continually impressed by the quality of cuts and color at such an affordable price in NYC. The location is less than ideal for me, but I continue to shlep there because I refuse to go anywhere else. The secret must be out though, as it's getting harder and harder to get appointments there within a month.
I used a LifeBooker for a partial highlight and cut for Shampoo B and I am extremely happy with the service. Emily was my hairdresser and was great with accommodating the style I was going for. She even advised me and guided me through my decisions. She gave me a very natural look and did just what I was looking for. I will definitely be back!
Shampoo Avenue B is my new go-to salon! They have reasonable prices and high-end services. I've been here twice so far and Raquel was my stylist both times. I love her style and how my hair looked after each service. I cant wait to visit their new location!
If you have curly hair (like me) you know how traumatic getting a haircut can be. You won't be sorry if you go to Shampoo Ave B. Although i don't get into the city as much as i would like, when i do i only let Sylese cut my hair. Everyone there is great and they make you feel like part of the family. Give them a try, you won't be sorry.
Had an amazing haircut here by someone who no longer is in the business, but went for another haircut here by someone else and was just as impressed. In a sea of expensive and bad hair cuts, I'm so happy for Shampoo Ave B.
I love this place. I've been getting highlights for 10+ years and Aut is by far the best!
