I have been a loyal customer of Shampoo for three years, and tried several different stylists, all of which have done the perfect amount of listening and suggesting, and I've always walked away feeling great.
After moving to NYC two years ago I was desperate to find "my place" to cut my hair. A friend recommended Shampoo Avenue B and I have been hooked ever since. Shampoo is a great salon with very talented staff! I have had 3 haircuts there, all with different stylists, and have been pleased every time. The salon is very bright and clean, and is located in a great location in the East Village!
As someone with thick, curly hair, it's taken me years to find somewhere I was comfortable going. Next week is my second haircut with Eric, who has even curlier hair than me! He cuts with confidence and has a good conversation with the client before making any decisions. Planning on making a change next week and am looking forward to hearing and taking his tips and advice!
I have been going to Shampoo Ave B for over 6 months now. I am so pleased with the services they provide, how cost effective it is for students (offerings discounts for current students with ID), and how conveniently they are located. I searched so long for a good salon since I moved to the city two years ago. And not that I'm picky about my hair, but I like to feel comfortable and happy with the result afterwards and this was the place! They are all super friendly, accommodating, always offer coffee, water, beer, tea, etc... Also, Racquel is my favorite there, she will be my regular hair dresser as long as I'm living in the city! I just kind of told her what I was thinking of getting, and let her go to work and loved the outcome!
