My best friends daughter got into a car accident over the winter sliding on black ice on the road. She filed a claim and was informed that she had been cut off of her insurance to which she was given no notification. She then was told that all she had to do was to pay the balance she owed and they would process her claim, she did so and the claim processed. i've been with farmers for many years. Throughout this past year every time I would go into my account to pay a bill it said zero due. I recently went to renew my policy and my agent and I worked out a new policy for this year. However about two weeks later I received a bill for last year. I also then realized how expensive my policy was for last year in fact it was actually double what I thought I was paying. I will never, ever, recommend Farmers Insurance to anyone. I sold my car 3/15/22, notified them 3/16/22, sent in appropriate documents in order to get my refund for premiums collected after the sale, and I not only have not received my refund, I have not heard a single word from them. If they need money that bad they can keep the premiums deducted that they are not entitled to.
Line many others, it seems, I had an abysmal ******** service experience with Farmers after they bought out MetLife. We have been with Metlife for years. Farmers recently acquired them. They have 100% botched the conversion that has been going on for months at least 5. First they somehow dropped a vehicle and I got a nasty statement from the state farmers reported to them saying I didn't have insurance. Couldn't get into the website. No help over the phone. I've tried for nearly 2 months to cancel my insurance policy as I was being severly over charged. I spent a minimum of 20 hours on the phone with farmers (I'm a former metlife ********, farmers bought out part of metlife) and every time i talked to them they say the same thing. They can't find my information. They can't find any policy listed at my address, they can't find any account to my phone number or my email. Mis-deduct $800+ on my credit account. Cancel policy even after updating documentations. Send a refund to an address that I will not present and refuse to deduct the refund as next year policy fee. Bad service

I had MetLife Auto Insurance through my employer that was then transferred to Farmers Auto. I purchased a new car 4/19 and called Farmers on 4/20 to remove my previous car from the policy and add the new car to the policy. The agent I had was untrained and unprepared to provide me basic answers to questions such as what liability coverage limits were available to me and what the corresponding impacts to my premium would be.
